A little lost, a lot gained

I wrote this story as a means to explain in a short and concise way the social issues we face as a society. From teenagers suffering with eating disorders, self esteem and a hoard of other issues to children addicted to gaming. Teenagers separating themselves from the family cause they want to be on their phone. These are real issues. In this video I show what a little break from the internet can really do.
We should try to live our lives with reduced internet, it’s better for us as humans not just mentally but physically as well.
Like my father says too much of a good thing makes it a bad thing.

My Road to Recovery

My name is Rachel Thornton.

For most of my life, I’ve battled with my severe addiction of social media.

Believe me. It was super, duper hard.

This is my totally inspirational story that makes me a role model for young people everywhere.

‘Meet Jennifer’ : 2015 Video Entry

This is a nice little girl called Jennifer. She wants to be friends with you.

Will you accept?

It’s not always who you think it is.

When I first started using the likes of Snapchat and Facebook, there where a few times when I was added as a friend or contacted through an internet message by someone I had never met before. At first I didn’t think it was anything serious as lots of my friends where friends with people they hadn’t met before.

After I gained more knowledge and experience about using the internet I realised that if I had responded to these I could have put myself in an uncomfortable or even dangerous situation. With this poster I just wanted to advise those who are new to the internet that you or your children may not really know who is on the other side of the screen and that its a terrible idea to share personal information to strangers.
