Get involved in your community on Safer Internet Day with Webwise.ie Safer Internet Day is promoted in Ireland by the PDST Technology in Education and Webwise. Their Safer Internet Day Hub will provide you with lots of ideas, fun activities, and free resources that you can use to promote online safety not just on Safer Internet Day, but at any time of the year. Remember, regardless of how big, or small, your event is make sure to register for Safer Internet Day and put your school or organisation on the map! As proud supporters each year, Trend Micro will celebrate Safer Internet Day all around the world in different ways. In Ireland, we will host several events during the entire week of Feb 7-10, one for parents, a workshop at our office in Cork for local school kids and a Bootcamp training session for transition years.
Internet Safety Talk for Parents Join Trend Micro host Avril Ronan on Safer Internet Day whose honest and practical approach has welcomed thousands of parents over the past few years to her talks. As a parent herself, Avril understands the evolving challenges that the online world presents. The goal for each talk is to help parents feel empowered and to have a better understanding of what’s truly important when it comes managing family life online. Expect top tips, live demos and free online resources on everything from safety, privacy, gaming, social networks to dealing with unkindness and screen time challenges. All our internet safety work is free to our community, so please do join if you can. 70 children will become Cyber Academy Champions on Feb 7th Our trained Trend Micro employees will deliver several episodes of the Cyber Academy to 3rd class children who will visit0 our office on Safer Internet Day. This internet safety programme for kids is designed for teachers and03 parents to access directly and engage with children in fun ways. Check it out and get active in your community with this fun series that everyone can enjoy and learn so much together!
30 Transition year students from 2 local Cork schools will become Cyber Academy Ambassadors next week too! They will be equipped through our Bootcamp to deliver the Cyber Academy to children in their local primary schools, delivering education in an engaging and meaningful way to young children aged 7-10 years. Media Literacy Ireland have announced their new and exciting Media Literacy Awards. If you have been active in community raising awareness about the importance of understanding and tackling misinformation and disinformation online, then consider nominating yourself for an award.
